Welcome!

My name is Dr Barbara Lowes, but please call me Dr Basia (pronounced Barsha). I am a caring and empathetic female Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon providing care to the women of the North Shore, Sydney and Inner West. 

I am experienced, highly skilled, and motivated to provide up-to-date and evidenced-based care, including conservative, medical and surgical options tailored to your specific needs. I have trained at several premier maternity hospitals in the Sydney region and completed an additional 2-year fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery accredited by the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES).  

My mission is to provide women-centred and integrated care, focusing on empathy, education and empowerment for my patients throughout their decision-making process. I am passionate about educating patients to better understand their own bodies and creating a community of women caring for women. As a mother myself, I am able to connect with and appreciate the beauty & challenges of the fertility, pregnancy & motherhood journey.

Dr Basia Lowes holds appointments and operates at The Mater Hospital (Sydney), North Shore Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick.
